Exilis Fat Reduction

Exilis is a non-invasive, non-surgical, painless fat reduction and skin tightening treatment that's not only affordable, but very comfortable and potentially life-changing. With as little as four treatments -- which many patients describe as feeling like a warm massage -- you can actually lose body fat and tighten skin. If you feel like you've run up against a wall and stopped gaining further benefits from dieting, or perhaps you're seeing a few age-related wrinkles that you'd like to do away with painlessly, affordably, and in a relatively short time, then Exilis could be just the solution for you. We have created a new section of content devoted to Leg Vein Treatment, complete with before and after photos. Click here to view our Leg Vein Treatment page.

Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are small, thin, blood vessels visible beneath the skin. They appear most commonly on the face and legs and may look like a series of lines, tree branches, or a spider- or web-like shape with a dark center. It is estimated that they affect nearly half of adult women in the U.S.

Spider veins are caused by a variety of factors, including heredity, pregnancy (and other conditions that involve changes in hormone levels), weight gain, long periods of standing, and certain medications. They often appear red or blue, and because they form on the thighs, calves and ankles, many patients are bothered by the way they look. The standard treatments for spider veins are sclerotherapy and laser treatments.

Microdermabrasion

Botox- Advanced Dermatology Center of Columbus- Dr Thomas Steinberg MD Microdermabrasion treatment improves mild to moderate sun damage, scarring and wrinkles. It evens skin color and freshens skin tone. A gentle stream of tiny particles exfoliates the outer layer of skin and provides a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. The particles scrape away the surface layer of aging or damaged skin, which is then brushed off with the microdermabrasion vacuum tool with no need for anesthesia. Only a small amount of skin is removed, so sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms and hands can be treated.

Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin renewal procedures, such as laser treatment and chemical peels. Multiple treatments are recommended for full effect.

Gentle Chemical Peels

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, even skin color, and remove blemishes so your skin has a healthier glow. We tailor peel formulas and strengths for each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons.

Sunspots

Sunspots- Advanced Dermatology Center of Columbus- Dr Thomas Steinberg MD Repeated exposure to sunlight, especially ultraviolet light, can cause a variety of cosmetic and medical problems in our skin. These include telangiectasia (red or purple “spider veins”), uneven pigmentation, lines and wrinkles, thinning of skin, loss of skin elasticity, and melanoma and other skin cancers. The damage our skin suffers from sunlight is cumulative and often gradual, so the effects appear as we age and worsen with time.

Adequate protection from the sun and avoidance of other sources of ultraviolet light such as tanning salons are an important part of preventing such damage. However, there are procedures and treatments to cosmetically improve damage that has already occurred. Our office offers PhotoRejuvenation to reduce the appearance of uneven pigmentation, spider veins and other vascular lesions. Chemical peels and microdermabrasion remove the surface layer of skin to expose a fresh, healthier, younger-looking layer beneath. We often use a combination of treatments for a more effective result.
